
Nella Young
Board Member
Nella Young has a background in urban planning, experiential education and outdoor leadership and has worked on topics including infrastructure for active living, economic development for the creative sector, and policies that improve access to healthy food. After more than 15 years in nonprofits, she now works in executive search consulting at Isaacson, Miller to recruit exceptional leaders for mission driven organizations. For a decade prior, she led and launched national programs at national nonprofit, Enterprise Community Partners. In that role, Nella supported efforts at the intersection of architecture, arts and culture, and community development to create healthy, enriching and affordable homes and neighborhoods. In the past, Nella worked at the New England Foundation for the Arts, was faculty member at The Island School in the Bahamas, ran her own house painting company, and spent a year as a research fellow in Germany studying planning strategies for shrinking cities. She holds an M.A. in Urban and Environmental Policy and Planning from Tufts University and a B.A. from Wesleyan University where she majored in studio arts. Nella is a 2017 Senior Fellow of ELP's New England Regional Network (NERN) fellowship program.
