C-StREAM (Chesapeake Student Recruitment, Early Advisement and Mentoring) is a program focused on recruiting, advising, and mentoring college students from typically under-represented groups to prepare them for careers in environmental protection and restoration. We will work with successful applicants to identify internships and mentors and help advise them academically to ensure they are on the best track for success. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) Chesapeake Bay Office is a division of the National Marine Fisheries' Office of Habitat Conservation, which works to protect and restore coastal and marine habitats. The NOAA Chesapeake Bay Office applies NOAA assets and resources to advance priorities in four goal areas of the 2014 Chesapeake Bay Watershed Agreement: Sustainable Fisheries, Vital Habitats, Environmental Literacy and Climate Resiliency. The Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay seeks a Communications Intern for the Chesapeake Bay Program Communications Office. The Bay Program Communications Office supports the partnership’s efforts to restore and protect the Chesapeake Bay by providing information to the public, working with the media, branding and promoting Bay Program products and activities, and facilitating communications among Bay Program's many partners, which include local, state and federal governments, nonprofit organizations and academia. The communications intern will have the opportunity to work with Bay Program partners to create content, develop communications products and help expand knowledge and and awareness around the restoration and protection of the Bay.
