Erica is the Program Director at Growing Hope in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Growing Hope's mission is to empower individuals and communities to lead healthy lives through gardening and access to healthy food. In this role she writes and manages grants, oversees Growing Hope's education and food access programs for youth and adults, and takes part in the strategic development of the organization. She formally worked at the Michigan League of Conservation Voters as the Policy Manager. She holds a M.S. in Environmental Studies from the University of Montana and a B.A. in English and Creative Writing from Kalamazoo College. Her love of the outdoors and writing have often intersected, and on her hiking and camping trips throughout Michigan she can often be found with a notebook in hand.
