Kristie Giannetto is Deputy Director of Philanthropy at The Nature Conservancy’s Connecticut Chapter and a Global Women in Climate Co-Lead. With the Connecticut Chapter, Kristie is responsible for team management and operations, including staff supervision, revenue forecasting, budgeting, and fundraising performance metrics. With Women in Climate, Kristie co-leads the initiative which seeks to facilitate intersectional climate solutions created by women through innovation labs designed to connect diverse climate leaders and create the space for them to build climate solutions on the foundation of equity. Kristie also serves on the Connecticut Chapter Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Justice and Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities teams.
Before working with the Philanthropy team, Kristie was the Director of Finance, Operations and Centralized Services for North America Marketing, Co-Lead of the Women in Nature (WIN) Employee Resource Group and, originally, the Operations Manager for the Connecticut Chapter. In her role with North America Marketing, she focused on finance, human resources, and operations at a national level for a team of about 80 people within the marketing division. She also oversaw the Central Services team, a shared creative, production and design team for marketing at TNC. As co-lead for WIN, a program within the Diversity and Inclusion Initiative, she co-managed 14 staff members across seven different time zones to advance the profile of women in conservation. Before coming to The Nature Conservancy, Kristie worked in the environmental field at a global and local level including roles as an environmental educator, a park ranger, a philanthropic travel planner and guide, and an operations consultant.
Kristie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies and Spanish from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts, and a Master of Business Administration from The Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts. Kristie previously served as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Environmental Learning Centers of Connecticut.
