Heather Cowley is the regional manager of the Energy Programs Office in the Southeast Region of the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection. She manages efforts within the PA DEP's state energy and climate change plans. Her main focus is outreach and education for schools, local governments and commercial building owners/operators to assist their efforts in implementing plans and programs for energy efficiency, alternative energy and fuels, and sustainability. Thanks to collaborative efforts with other ELP Fellows, she represents the Department on the PA Green and Healthy Schools Partnership's Advisory Council and task forces. Her work in the past has included managing Commonwealth energy efficiency and renewable energy grants and greening health care. Previously, she was an inspector and pollution prevention specialist at the DEP. In her community she is active at her church, East Falls Presbyterian, and serves on the Board of Trustees at her children's school, Green Woods Charter School, a green STEM school.
