Jennifer Wills has lived in Lynchburg since 2014 after moving with her two children and husband from Alexandria, VA. Her first career was as an environmental attorney with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for 16 years. Since that time, she's built a nature-based leadership coaching practice, ran Claytor Nature Center, and currently heads the study abroad program at University of Lynchburg. She was born in Louisville, Kentucky where she developed an appreciation for the Kentucky Derby, attended the University of Louisville (B.A. Biology) and University of Kentucky (J.D.). She's put down Virginia roots including a master's in natural resources from Virginia Tech. She believes in participating in civic life and has been on local boards of directors including Camp Kum-Ba-Yah Nature Center, James River Day School, EC Glass Field Hockey Booster Board, and Lynchburg Redevelopment and Housing Authority.

She enjoys long hikes in the woods, ultramarathons, target shooting, mountain biking, traveling and she always needs a project to work on. She's currently building a chicken coop but has her sights on raising quail.
