Kimaada Le Gendre

Born in the beautiful Caribbean country of Trinidad and raised in New York, Kimaada Le Gendre is a product of the “best of both worlds”. After college, she spent 5 years working in the publishing industry in sales, marketing and event planning. She was the Account Director for Elite Traveler Magazine, handling luxury travel, real estate, hotel, and resorts accounts for the US & Caribbean regions. Three years ago she made the switch from the corporate world to work in the non-profit sector, where she worked for the New York Public Interest Research Group, Teach For America, Surfrider NYC, Spoons Across America and the New York Environmental Law & Justice Project.  



Kimaada has led many programs focused on environmental education, nutrition and sustainability including: implementing a school recycling program, urban outdoor exploration, and gardening to teach young people how to grow and cook their own healthy snacks and meals.   She also has a great deal of experience teaching youth and holds a Bachelors of Arts in English from Hunter College, a Masters in Environmental Law & Policy from Vermont Law School and a Certificate in Urban Environmental Education from Cornell University. Most recently, she was the Summer Program Lead Educator for the City Parks Foundation "Green Girls: Summer Institute", specializing in outdoor education and urban adventure exploration and youth development.  



Currently, she is the Environmental Education Director and School Life Program Manager of Cambria School of Excellence and the Cambria Center for the Gifted Child.
