I was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio.  I have several siblings and no children.  My parents instilled in me a love of nature.  As a family, we spent most weekends in nature.  I attended Cuyahoga Community College and Texas Tech University.  I’ve been employed as a Horticulturist at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo since 1999.
