HI there - I'm Allison Breitenother (Bright-in-other) and I'm currently using my background in Environmental Science (BS, University of Maryland 2012) and Applied Environmental Public Health (MPH, University of Maryland 2017) to further climate change adaptation in Maryland. I serve as the Coastal Climate Coordinator for the Maryland Department of Natural Resources where I am responsible for coordinating climate activities both within our agency, across state agencies and externally with partners (including the Chesapeake Bay Program, NOAA, The Nature Conservancy and others). I also serve as the coordinator of the Adaptation and Resiliency Working Group of the Maryland Commission on Climate Change as well as the Maryland Coast Smart Council.
I have been working in climate change adaptation for the state of Maryland since 2013 and served as the Program Manager for the Climate Change and Health Adaptation Program (MCCHAP) at the Maryland Department of Health from 2013 - 2016. I am passionate about the intersection of human, environmental and ecological systems and am excited to continue learning from and with the ELP network going forward! I'm always up for a chat, so please drop a line!
