Combining her corporate and non-profit skills as a project manager, marketing director and financial analyst, Zena founded the newest NYC food cooperative, the South Bronx Food Cooperative & Foundation. This for- and non-profit social venture serves as a financially sustainable and environmentally responsibly example of how to practically involve urban communities hardest hit with health disparities cooperatively improve while creating green jobs. Since resigning from the for-profit arm of the organization, Zena has continued her work with social ventures consulting as a financial analyst, fiscal sponsor and development manager for several quasi organizations, cooperatives and L3C's. Zena currently serves as partner in the social venture "Brave New Idea" and works as a project manager for the Freelancer's Union, specializing in the federally sponsored "CO-OP" Healthcare Insurance initiative.
