Leah Fisher is a Senior Intergovernmental Program Analyst for the California Governor's Office of Planning and Research, where she works across her background on both climate change adaptation and clean energy policy and planning. Before joining the Brown Administration in California, Leah worked on sustainable transportation, with a focus on hydrogen and fuel cells, at the U.S. Department of Energy. Leah was previously a climate change policy specialist with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). After starting with NOAA's National Ocean Service in 2013 as a Knauss Marine Policy Fellow focused on Arctic policy and the National Ocean Policy, she then served as the National Ocean Service's Climate Change Policy Coordinator.
Leah is trained academically as a marine scientist, holding a Bachelor of Science degree from Duke University in Biology, and a Master of Science degree from the College of Charleston in Marine Biology. With a broad scientific background, Leah is passionate about interdisciplinary, cross-sector, and innovative approaches to advancing climate change mitigation and adaptation.
