Nella has a background in urban planning, experiential education and outdoor leadership and has worked on topics including infrastructure for active living, economic development for the creative sector, and policies that improve access to healthy food. With more than a decade in nonprofit management, she now works to recruit exceptional civic sector leaders, as an associate at search firm, Isaacson, Miller. For a decade prior, she led and launched national programs at Enterprise Community Partners. In that role, Nella supported the intersection of architecture, arts and culture, and community development to create healthy, enriching and affordable homes and neighborhood. In the past, Nella worked as an educator at The Island School in the Bahamas, ran her own house painting company, and spent a year as a research fellow in Germany studying planning strategies for shrinking cities. She holds an M.A. in Urban and Environmental Policy and Planning from Tufts University and a B.A. from Wesleyan University where she majored in studio arts.
