The Finance Director at Groundwork Northeast Revitalization Group (GWNRG) will oversee organization-wide budget creation, lead research and decision making related to financial strategy for the organization, train program coordinators on developing program budgets, and oversee the monthly expense reporting process. GWNRG is a 501c3 environmental justice organization. We disrupt systems of capitalism, racism, and present-day colonialism and push for local sovereignty over food, land, economy, and cultural celebration. We expect to grow our full time staff from 8 to 12 employees in 2023, and our part time staff from 4 to 10. Our current annual revenue is approximately $1 million; we expect that this will increase by $900,000 in 2023.

The Vashon-Maury Island Land Trust’s work permanently preserves and stewards land on Vashon and Maury Islands in the heart of the Puget Sound. Our Stewardship program is largely comprised of on-site preserve management, habitat restoration, trail maintenance, new trail construction and invasive species removal. The position includes informal educational opportunities, wilderness first aid training, native plant identification, restoration design, and community science data collection. This internship will also take us to the Olympic Peninsula for a week to work with the Elwha tribe on their restoration work related to dam removal. The Land Trust is currently seeking three seasonal interns to work from May 15 through November 16th.

The interpretive lead provides interpretation about the Murie legacy to the general public and Teton Science Schools (TSS) participants, and trains and supports the volunteer docents. This is a dynamic position; a day may include chatting with visitors at the Ranch, leading a formal docent tour of the Murie home, giving an evening lecture on wildflower ecology and reading up on the history of the Muries. The interpretive lead is the public face of the ranch, available and willing to answer questions from the general public as well as participants staying at the Ranch. Other duties include providing support and instruction for residential education programs and other Murie Ranch events especially the weekly evening lecture series.
