Angela Davis is the Community Food Education Program Coordinator for Just Food, a nonprofit organization that works to increase the number of New Yorkers that have access to local, organic food and supports regional family farmers. Angela coordinates the Community Food Education program, which provides outreach and education to inspire and empower New Yorkers to eat more local, seasonal food. She trains community members from diverse backgrounds to become "community chefs." Just Food community chefs teach community members how to cook healthy, delicious, and culturally appropriate meals for themselves and their families. Angela serves on the board of Just Harvest USA, a national project that works to build a more socially just and sustainable food system, with a focus on establishing fair wages, safe working conditions and fundamental human rights for agricultural workers. She is also on the Steering and Envisioning Committee for the New York City Nutrition Education Network.
