You don’t have to believe in science for it to be true. The challenge is to connect with people’s hearts and minds on a level where it isn’t so scary to believe.

The only thing to fear, is fear itself.       - Franklin D. Roosevelt

As an ecological artist, I am interested in exploring how art and the art-making process can be used in transdisciplinary projects to further environmental conservation, foster science literacy, inspire environmental and climate action, and build better human-nature relationships. Or in other terms, how Ecological Art, or Environmental Art, can benefit the environment.

Currently I work for the Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department at Dead Creek in Addison, where I played a central role in opening our first visitor center. On other days I may be scouting for geese, working on graphic design, or canoeing up the creek to monitor a bald eagle nest. I have a BA in Environmental Studies and Studio Art from the University of Vermont and a MA in International Environmental Policy with a concentration in land and marine conservation from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies in Monterey, CA.

When we try to pick out anything by itself, we find it hitched to everything else in the Universe.      -John Muir

Hattie Marsh's song: Poison

May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds.     -Edward Abbey
