Andrea Calderón is the Youth Sustainability Coordinator, a position funded by the Baltimore Community Foundation in the Baltimore Office of Sustainability. Andrea manages the Green, Healthy, Smart Challenge, a 50+ school grant program that has reached 72% of Baltimore City Public Schools; created the Youth Environmental Internship, a high school paid internship program providing an incubator for youth-led environmental advocacy (currently hosting Baltimore Beyond Plastic); and is a co-founder of the City of Baltimore's Department of Planning Equity Committee.
Andrea has previously worked in several Baltimore City Schools an ELL Liaison and Community Resource Coordinator and built capacity for the Baltimore Green Schools Network and City Schools Sustainability efforts at City Schools as an Americorps VISTA. (two terms). She has also held positions with the Baltimore Ecosystem Study, and Baltimore City's emergent Recreation and Parks’ Canoe and Kayak Program.
In between, Andrea can be found dancing up a storm in Baltimore’s eclectic art scene, at public lectures, organizing around equity, and working on her writing practice.
