Julie founded and runs JSG Communications, which provides strategic communication services to businesses and non profit organizations in the energy and environment space.  Established in early 2016, JSG Communications has grown to provide stakeholder relations, media consulting, investor relations, grant writing/management and new media services to a diverse portfolio of national and international clients. 

Prior to founding the firm, Julie worked for the two largest publicly-traded renewable energy companies in the world. As Vice President, Corporate Communications and Investor Relations for Brookfield Renewable Energy Partners, Julie was a member of the executive team overseeing renewable project development, acquisitions and operations in North America, Latin America and Europe.  Prior to joining Brookfield, Julie managed Corporate Affairs for Enel Green Power’s North American subsidiary, leading government affairs, media relations and the marketing of renewable energy certificates and carbon offsets.

She spent years working at the grassroots, community level throughout Latin America, first as a Peace Corps volunteer and later with Enersol, a respected non-profit solar organization. During her time living in Latin America, she helped electrify hundreds of off-grid homes with photovoltaic systems, including her own modest house on the Dominican-Haitian border, which sported a 10 watt solar panel.

Julie has been a member of the national Board of Directors for the Business Council for Sustainable Energy (BCSE) and the National Hydropower Association (NHA). She was recently named as an Advisor to the Energy Access Foundation and enjoys working on environmental awareness and advocacy at the town level.  She lives with her husband, Tom and two teenage children in the northern suburbs of Boston, where she is enjoys training with a local running club, reading and advocating for Type 1 Diabetes funding. 

Julie holds a MBA from Boston University and a BA in International Studies and Public Communications from American University.
