I'm a Gemini and like long walks on the (Lake Michigan) beach.
I'm a lifer in the non-profit world, with a two-year stint with the Illinois Natural History Survey being my only employment outside of the non-profit sector since 2000. I was born in Central Illinois and grew up in a town without a stop light. I've spent all but 10 years of my life in a state with a Great Lake on its border, and don't intend to change that.
Professionally, I'm interested/moved by clean energy, reuse/recycling (especially around building materials), landscape architecture, diversity, equity and inclusion in the environmental field, administration and HR (yep, I said it), and sound fiscal management in the nonprofit sector. I consider myself a social worker, and have an MSW from the University of Kentucky with a focus on community-based interventions. I worked for 10 years at Habitat for Humanity, most of those were spent tearing down buildings by hand, because I sometimes do things the hard way.
Personally, I like to cook/bake, kayak, listen to music, read, play competitive pinball (I'm ranked in the US - ask me about it), travel, and take naps. I have a 100 lb dog who is named for a Hungarian filmmaker.
