I have a bachelor's and master's degree in Psychology Research. I spent 20 years working in Institutitonal Research (i.e., decision-support for higher education's senior leaders), recently focusing on Enrollment Management. After a rapid succession of personal experiences that collectively gave me a new perspective on what I want to do with my life, I sought out the ELP Fellowship in order to help facilitate my career transition into the outdoor education realm. Thanks to some insights gained from NERN's first retreat, I was able to break into the field. From September 2019 - July 2020, I will be a member of AmeriCorps' Outdoor Adventure Education program run by the Midcoast Conservancy in Edgecomb, ME. I am actively thinking about what my next step will be after this AmeriCorps role. I am considering whether I would like to eventually specialize in adaptive outdoor sports and/or wilderness therapy or eco-therapy.
