Emily graduated from the George Washington University in Washington, D.C., with a BA in Women's Studies and Marketing, and a Master of Public Health, focusing in community health. Student positions included work in fundraising/development and as a Research Assistant for the Environmental and Occupational Health Department, working on the first large-scale community survey of Washington, D.C. residents looking at pest control problems, pest control methods, attitudes towards pesticides and related health issues. Additionally, she interned with the Association of Farmworker Opportunity Programs. Currently, Emily is an Environmental Health Scientist at the U.S. EPA, addressing agricultural worker protection and healthcare issues.
