Sara has raised millions of dollars for organizations focused on bringing people and communities out of poverty. 

Currently, she serves as Director of Development at RefugeeOne, which creates opportunities for refugees fleeing war to build new lives of safety, dignity and self-reliance. Previously, she developed nationally-acclaimed sustainable housing for low-income families in Montana, helped create and promote economic development efforts on Chicago's West side, and built new allies for environmental justice through faith-based outreach. She was instrumental in helping her church and a major mosque become the first church in Chicago and first mosque in the nation to go solar. 

Sara received Masters degrees in Community Development and Theology from North Park Seminary in Chicago and a Bachelors in Economics and Government from Connecticut College.
