Matt Stern is a Electricity Program Director at The Energy Co-op, responsible for directing the Co-op's retail renewable electricity and natural gas programs. Prior to joining the Energy Co-op, he was a Program Manager with Performance Systems Development (PSD), responsible for the development and management of residential energy efficiency and home performance programs. He has a diverse background in program management, energy policy, organizing and the sciences. Matt holds a Master's in Energy and Environmental Policy from the Center for Energy and Environmental and Policy (CEEP). His Master's thesis investigated the equity, governance and scalability of community-level sustainable energy efforts. Before returning to school, he managed campaigns for the Chesapeake Climate Action Network and worked extensively with the Energy Action Coalition, including serving as co-chair of the Coalition's steering committee. In these positions, he was frequently asked to speak on climate and energy issues and train emerging leaders. Matt holds a BPI Building Analyst certification and received a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from the University of Pittsburgh. In his free time, he enjoys cycling, cooking, photography and the Phillies.
