Carrie Hearne is the Director of sales and marketing at B-Line Urban Delivery, a transportation and logistics company and certified B Corp in Portland, Oregon. Carrie grew up in the mountains of West Virginia on an off-grid farm where she spent summers pulling weeds in the garden, baking pies and gazing at constellations in the dark starry sky.
Carrie’s career in sustainability began while working at The Standard, a Fortune 1000 financial services firm and downtown Portland’s largest private employer. She became the company’s first sustainability manager, a rewarding and challenging role that has been influential in her work today. Following The Standard, Carrie served as Oregon business partnerships manager for Climate Solutions, a Northwest-based nonprofit with a mission to accelerate practical and profitable solutions to global warming. Carrie galvanized business support with Renew Oregon to help pass Oregon’s Clean Fuels Program (SB 324), as well as passing the Clean Electricity and Coal Transition Act (HB 4036).
Carrie earned her bachelor’s degree from Earlham College and holds sustainability certificates from University of Oregon and Willamette University. She has been a contributing member of the Climate Action Plan Steering Committee for the City of Portland and Multnomah County and has served on the board of directors for the Northwest Earth Institute (NWEI) since 2008. She is also a past advisor for Women in Sustainability and the Environment (WISE). In 2015, she was elected to serve for the Sierra Club's Oregon Chapter executive committee.
She enjoys photography, gardening, baking and getting outdoors with her dog Timber.
