No matter where I am, I’m at home in water: Growing up in Michigan, I spent summers swimming in the Great Lakes; Attending college in Maine, I was the captain of Bowdoin’s swim team; Working in Los Angeles, I was an ocean lifeguard; Researching in Western Australia, I was SCUBA diving semiweekly. Currently, in New York City I work for Hudson River Park as the Director of the Environment and Education Department and am a self-proclaimed H2Oecologista. I have a M.S. in aquatic science and environmental justice, which informs my passion for connecting urban communities to marine science and local waterways. I value strategic and creative science communication, research, and outreach. It is of utmost importance to me that I share my expertise and enthusiasm for urban waters with diverse communities to ultimately protect and restore our local waters.
