J. Sarah Sorenson
Sarah is the Associate Director of Individual Philanthropy at Ocean Conservancy, an international nonprofit dedicated to keeping our ocean healthy and our coastal communities prosperous. Ocean Conservancy’s vision is that diverse and healthy marine ecosystems can support a wide spectrum of wildlife, drive prosperous ocean economies, keep our water clean, and our beaches healthy. At Ocean Conservancy, Sarah works to grow and cultivate the organization's major donors across the United States. Before Ocean Conservancy, Sarah was previously the Director of Development & Operations at Potomac Riverkeeper Network, a regional non-profit that works to stop pollution and restore clean water to the Potomac and Shenandoah Rivers through enforcement and community engagement. She has also worked with organizations including Food & Water Watch, San Diego Coastkeeper and the Udall Alumni Association. She holds a B.A. in Environmental Policy from Colby College and has won several awards for her environmental advocacy work, including a Morris K. Udall Scholarship in 2010.
