Hello, my name is Kara Tudor. My preferred gender pronouns are she/her/hers. I’m a feminist, Native, scientist, avid-reader, and believer in aliens and Bigfoot. I’ve been married for a year, sharing 3 cats, 2 dogs, and 1 horse with my partner. I’m very proud of my various shades of purple hair. I’m an advocate for other LGBTQ+ folks in my community. My hobbies are agate hunting, painting, and casual biking. My guilty pleasures are paranormal TV shows and listening to 90’s boy-bands. If I wasn’t a scientist, I’d be a librarian or own a bookstore. I like hanging out with the people in my life who inspire me and provoke me to go after what I want while supporting, loving, and living life to the fullest.

My education is a Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin-Superior. I graduated in May 2015 with a major in Environmental Studies and a double-minor in Biology and Geographic Information Systems.

Currently I live near beautiful Lake Superior in the Twin Ports. I’m an Associate Research Specialist at the University of Wisconsin-Superior’s Lake Superior Research Institute. We conduct environmental research and provide services that directly benefit the people, industries, and natural resources of the Upper Midwest and the Great Lakes Region. The majority of my work has been in an effort devoted to ending the problem of ship-mediated invasive species in the Great Lakes. My work has taken me to many parts of our beautiful world including Spain, Morocco, Netherlands, France, and England.
