Katie Walsh, Senior Manager, CDP North America
Katie oversees CDP’s cities, states and regions engagement in North America, engaging more than 180 cities and 14 states/regions who current measure, manage and report to CDP. Katie manages and oversaw CDP’s launch of the Matchmaker project, which advances implementation of climate resilient infrastructure projects in global cities.
Katie has worked in the Chinese Sustainable Cities Program at the Energy Foundation in Beijing, the U.S. Department of Energy Policy and International Affairs Office in Washington, D.C. and the Chinese Flagship Program at San Francisco State University. She served as an Environmental Defense Fund Climate Corps fellow with the Mayor’s Office of Sustainability in the City of Philadelphia and was recently awarded EDF’s William K. Bowes, Jr. Award for Leadership which recognizes alumni who are leaders in their field and working to drive positive environmental change.
Katie currently co-leads the New York City chapter of Women Investing in a Sustainable Economy and as of September 2018 is a newly elected member of public office serving on the County Committee for Assembly District 51 in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. She holds a master’s degree from Tufts University in Urban Planning and a master’s degree in Law and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School. She completed a Fulbright in Taiwan and holds a BA in History of Asia/Middle East from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
