Lena Golze Desmond
As of 2020, I'm Regulatory Counsel with David Energy, a renewable energy start-up working to transition to a sustainable, flexible, and resilient energy grid. Before that, I worked at another renewable start-up, Drift Marketplace, and as an associate with Feller Law Group, a law firm specializing in deregulated markets. I'm a 2013 Fellow and current Board Member of the NYC Environmental Leadership Institute (NYCELLI) and a 2014 ELP Fellow, and collaborator for 'Law for the Environmental Grassroots', an informal collaboration to increase access to legal resources for grassroots groups and attorneys.
Other work experiences include Program Manager at the Human Impacts Institute (an art + climate education non-profit), as Environmental Program Associate at the Overbook Foundation, and volunteer attorney with the New York Attorney General's Environmental Protection Bureau. I graduated from Washington and Lee School of Law in 2010 (and helped represent coal miners as part of the Black Lung Legal Clinic). I also have an M.Sc. in Environmental Management from the Vrije Universiteit, and an undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College.
Also, plants are the best.
