From a background in environmental education in an urban school for at risk students, I gained an appreciation for balancing environmental concerns with the daily problems faced in many low-income communities of color. This experience drove me to pursue a degree in Urban Environmental Policy and Planning at Tufts, hoping to help build sustainable communities that address needs of environmental health, economic opportunity and social equity. After graduate school I worked for the Right Question Institute, spreading the use of question formulation as a tool for civic innovation, community engagement, and educational empowerment. I currently work as a Program Manager for the city of Boston's newly created Innovation Team, which is funded by Bloomberg Philanthropies. We are building a Housing Innovation Lab to develop, pilot and hopefully implement new ideas to ensure Boston is affordable to all families.
