Micaela Cooley has worked for Harvest Pierce County, a program of the Pierce Conservation District, since 2012. The focus of her work has been supporting Pierce County residents to reconnect with their food system and each other through community gardening. She is a strong advocate for supporting a healthy a robust grassroots community around a healthy food system. She also sits on the board of directors of the Tacoma Farmers Market and the Tacoma Urban Land Trust. Micaela received her BA in International Political Economy at the University of Puget Sound and focused her studies on food systems, including both the resiliency of community gardens in Pierce County and Urban Agriculture in Vietnam. In her spare time, she loves playing her cello and singing songs as well as frolicking in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
