Reyna Askew is from the Cleveland area, where her love for the environment first emerged while teaching environmental classes and leading seasonal hikes as a Summer Camp Naturalist at the Nature Center at Shaker Lakes in Shaker Heights, Ohio.

Today, Reyna uses her passion for protecting people and planet to drive better informed environmental, energy, and natural resources decisions through economic research and policy engagement at Resources for the Future. She joined RFF in 2018, as a Program Assistant supporting the Energy and Climate and Land, Water, and Nature programs. Before working at RFF, Reyna worked to expand clean energy access in underserved communities, with the solar power non-profit, GRID Alternatives, where she worked as Corporate and Individual Giving Coordinator. She holds a BA in International Relations from The Ohio State University and an MA in International Relations and International Economics from Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). Reyna also completed internships with the US Department of State and US Department of Energy.

A true lover of animals and nature, Reyna can be seen in her free time, hanging out on roof decks, hiking, camping and going on adventures with her dog, September.
