Wendy Caldwell is the coordinator of the Monarch Joint Venture, based a the University of Minnesota, and has been working on monarch conservation for 10 years. As the MJV coordinator, she works with partner organizations from across the US on restoring habitat, research and monitoring, and education/outreach efforts. Growing up in rural western Minnesota, she has a strong interest in supporting conservation practices in agricultural communities. Prior to her work with the MJV, Wendy worked with the Monarch Lab, assisting with research studies and coordinating citizen science efforts. In addition to working with monarch butterflies, Wendy has also worked with Ducks Unlimited, The Nature Conservancy, and the Illinois Natural History Survey doing waterfowl research and prairie restoration.
